He was so excited and after the first Wednesday he thought it was the best thing in the world! He couldn't stop talking about his "Coach" and all the things they had learned - the base-line and the half-court... I was happy, he actually had listened and learned something while he was there! He couldn't wait until the next "practice".

Here are a few pictures at the next "practice" and as you can see he was having a blast. Everything went well, he enjoys being around all the other kids and listening to the "coach" and playing in an organized activity. He has a hard time remembering that you are suppose to dribble the ball and not throw it at other people... but were working on the basics, right?
At the end of the "practice" they started shooting the ball, trying to make baskets. Well Dallon is so small, especially compared to some of his friends from school, he was having a really hard time getting the basketball even close to the rim... This is probably the first time that he has realized that he is smaller than most kids. He didn't make one basket and it really upset him.
So Dad, being Dad, didn't comfort him - he just said you are going to have to practice more. So Dallon has been spending time in the freezing unfinished basement shooting basketballs at the wall. Perhaps this will be a good thing, maybe now he will be a little more willing to getting his daily shots! But I'm guessing probably not - Dallon will be Dallon, STUBBORN! LOL!

I feel so bad he was sad when he didn't make a shot. Tell Ryan to be nice! Gavin's used to be the smallest, he'll get there!
PS: Tell him Clint was ALWAYS the smallest on the team, but was fastest (that's what counts!)
Holly crap, this is hilarious!! I'm laughing my head off. Dallon is so cute. I miss him. Tell him Aunt Heather is going to kick his trash when I see him next at basketball. I think it's because Alex is short that he didn't make the basketball team at school. But he'll grow and so will Dallon!
