Christmas Day

Christmas morning Dallon woke us up around 8:30 - you could tell he had been up for a little while and had been down inspecting all the gifts! He seemed to know exactly how many presents everyone got, what was in every one's stocking... You could say he was excited!

Carrying on the tradition that Ryan's parents started with their kids, Dallon & Oakley get an ornament for the tree each year. Not a real exciting gift, but Dallon really liked his this year because it had a light in it that changed colors, it was pretty cool!

Oakley's gift from Santa was a lawn mower ball popper thing... that I really regret getting now, because when the bigger kids get a hold of it and start running around the house with it, ahhhh it's so LOUD... why don't they make an off switch for the ball popper? and the kids?!

Dallon got a Nintendo DS, so he can have what every other kid has or got for Christmas! But as you can tell from the picture he was really happy about it!

The kids got other things, but we try not to make Christmas too extravagant - we usually try to keep it around 5 gifts... and that includes the ornament, and the outfit that they get each year. As Dallon is getting older though, it has been hard to get it through his little head that it's NOT about the gifts and the Santa Claus, that it's about Christ and His life. I think next year we will definitely need to do a service around Christmas time to perhaps bring Christ's spirit in a little more and put the Santa on the side. We'll see how that goes.

We all had a great Christmas morning!
